Terms of Use

Effective September 26, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Nicolas Rios (“we”, “us”), the developer of the Voltage app and website (“Voltage”). By downloading or using Voltage you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Voltage.

Voltage is licensed to you through the Apple App Store. Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”) applies to your use of the app, and these terms add to it. If the two conflict, these terms apply to the extent the Standard EULA allows. We, not Apple, are responsible for Voltage and its content.

Drive safely. Don't use Voltage in a way that takes your attention from the road. Set up routes and ask questions before you drive or when safely parked, obey traffic laws and posted signs, and use hands-free features such as Siri while driving.

1. What Voltage does

Voltage helps you find public EV chargers, scores them for your car, plans routes, and — with Voltage Pro — lets you ask Volty, an on-device assistant, about chargers and your car. Some features let you connect your own Tesla or TeslaFi account. Voltage is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Tesla, TeslaFi, any vehicle maker or any charging network. Product names are used only to describe compatibility.

2. Charger information and scores

Charger data comes from Open Charge Map and its community of contributors, and may be incomplete, out of date or wrong. Chargers can be broken, occupied, restricted, priced differently or moved without notice. ChargerScore, routes, drive times, ranges and Volty's answers are estimates to help you decide — not guarantees. Voltage does not show live availability unless it says so. Always check the station, its signage and your car before relying on it, and plan with a safe range buffer. You're responsible for your driving and charging decisions.

3. Ask Volty

Ask Volty uses Apple's on-device language model and requires an iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence with it turned on. Its answers are generated automatically, can be wrong, and are not professional, mechanical or safety advice. When Volty explains a message or alert from your car's screen, treat it as a plain-language guide only; follow your car's manual and contact the manufacturer or a qualified technician for anything safety-related.

4. Voltage Pro, subscriptions and payments

5. Accounts and connected services

An account is optional. If you create one, keep your devices secure; you're responsible for activity through your account. If you connect Tesla or TeslaFi, you confirm you're allowed to access that vehicle's data, and your use of those services remains subject to their own terms. Voltage uses read-only access and never controls your car. Connected services can change or stop working at any time, and we're not responsible for them. You can disconnect them or delete your account in Settings at any time.

6. Acceptable use

Don't misuse Voltage. For example, don't: break the law; interfere with or overload our servers; scrape, copy or resell Voltage's data or content in bulk; reverse engineer the app except where the law allows; access accounts or vehicles that aren't yours; or use Voltage to harm others.

7. Ownership and open data

Voltage, its design, Volty and its code belong to us and are protected by law. Charger data from Open Charge Map is provided under its own license and terms, and belongs to its contributors. Maps are provided by Apple. If you send us feedback, we may use it without obligation to you.

8. Changes to Voltage

We may add, change or remove features, and may suspend or end Voltage. If we end Ask Volty or Voltage Pro, we'll give reasonable notice where we can. We may also suspend access for anyone who breaks these terms.

9. Disclaimers

Voltage is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don't warrant that Voltage, its charger information, scores, routes or answers will be accurate, complete, uninterrupted or error-free.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, time, charging costs, towing, or vehicle damage, arising from your use of Voltage or reliance on its information. Our total liability for any claim relating to Voltage is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for Voltage Pro in the 12 months before the claim, or US $50.

Some places don't allow these limits, so they apply only as far as your local law permits. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that can't be waived.

11. Indemnity

To the extent the law allows, you agree to cover our reasonable losses from claims caused by your misuse of Voltage or your breach of these terms.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state where the developer resides, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the law of your country of residence requires otherwise. Before filing any claim, please email us so we can try to resolve it informally.

13. Apple

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Voltage, and is not responsible for any claims relating to it, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, or intellectual property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app. Continuing to use Voltage after an update means you accept it.
